Early Intervention Matters

In 2018 I introduced you to this kiddo. He had a serious speech delay, and I was excited to see him offering a little "hi" or "bye" to people during early voting.

So it seems only fitting that I give you a 2022 update. This little rockstar is kicking butt and taking names. We are on a journey with this one, learning new things about him every day, and I won't lie - we've had our challenges. But we have had the most amazing TCPS educators on our side, from P3 to 1st grade, Special Ed to interventionists.

Why does this matter? Well, I can speak firsthand to the incredible impact early intervention can make. When I say that focusing on our earliest learners sets the stage for a lifetime of success - I'm speaking from a wealth of knowledge. I have an insiders perspective into the world of special education, and I use this information to effectively advocate for more and better special education programming. I know what questions to ask, what rocks to turn over, what avenues to pursue, to ensure the very best educational opportunities for every little learner in our district.

I've put this knowledge to work for you for the past four years, and I have big plans for the next four. Every TCPS student deserves the world, let's work together and get it for them!
