About Emily Jackson

Emily has successfully served on the Talbot County Board of Education, representing District 4, since 2018. In four years she has gained much acclaim for being the most engaged and responsive board member, for consistently asking the tough questions, and demanding positive data-backed results for our community. She has been lauded by everyone from parents, to educators, to community leaders, as an effective and important voice on the BOE.

Emily is a mother to four TCPS students, ranging in ages from 6 to 13. She has personal experience with a wide variety of TCPS programs and services, ranging from Special Education to Gifted and Talented. She has engaged with school leadership in all of the eight TCPS buildings, and has children who have attended school in three of the buildings (soon to be four!). She is familiar with and celebrates each school’s individual community and culture, and knows that part of what makes TCPS so successful is our close-knit school communities.

Mrs. Jackson is an established professional photographer with a studio on the Eastern Shore, and as such has a deep passion for art and art education. Her aspiration and enthusiasm for civic responsibility and leadership began early in her life at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where she studied Political Science, History, and International Affairs. She has worked on Capitol Hill, for the American Public Works Association, for the University of Maryland, and a variety of grassroots philanthropic organizations in fundraising and development.
